Health, Wellness and Lifestyle Coaching by ZenLily Health
“What would it be like if you lived each day, each breath as a work of art in progress? Imagine that you are a Masterpiece unfolding, every second of every day, a work of art taking form with every breath.”
-Thomas Crum
What does “Namaste” Mean?
With hands in prayer position gently pressed into the heart center, saying Namaste we bow to one another to end each yoga class. Probably the most frequent question I get as a yoga instructor is what does Namaste mean. Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine Spark within each of us. An ancient Sanskrit greeting, still used in India today, the word translates roughly to mean “I bow to the God within you “. This gesture is an acknowledgement of the soul in one by the soul in another. And also is a symbol of gratitude and respect towards each other. It is an invitation to us to connect to an inner truth, that we are all one when we live from the heart.
I love the simple beauty and truthfulness of this word. The meaning describes perfectly what I feel guides my deepest life purpose in my work. And that is to hold a space for my students and clients to connect to and be guided by their inner heart’s wisdom. The best place to start is to acknowledge that spirit and wisdom within us, our own Divine Spark. I like to call this the “ Namaste Ah Ha” moment in a coaching session, when there is a flash of insight that comes straight from that Spark.
HeartMath and Intrinsic Coaching Methods
In deciding to become a “wellness coach” I choose two respected coaching methodologies for a frame work to expand my practice to include coaching. HeartMath and Intrinsic Coaching both use the concept of the heart as a center of intelligence. “HeartMath tools and techniques show how to move from linear thinking to intuitive sensing, providing greater intelligence and creative solutions to our present and future challenges.” Experiences in using the exercises of HeartMath can profoundly affect our health and have a positive effect on the way we think, feel, work together, and relate in all aspects of life. In trying to answer the question, “what is my heart’s desire” no other technique is better than Intrinsic Coaching. Intrinsic coaching offers effective tools for listening to the client and says first and foremost that each of us are unique, and that we have our own answers within us. The focus is on the client being whole and creative and the body-mind-spirit fully capable of achieving insight through it’s own knowledge and potential. Intrinsic coaching elicits new thinking, your potential unfolds because you can tap into your “best thinking” and opens the way to access your own unconditional guidance. Bowing to your own soul’s wisdom, the focus is on ‘holding space and honoring stillness” so the inner voice can be heard.
So why choose a coaching session as a wellness therapy?
Some say change is the only constant in life an to just “deal with it”. And Deepak Chopra says “stop being ruled by chaos and be ruled by your core (heart’s wisdom) self”. Change in the form of chaos or fortune can be stressful. The Baby Boomers – my generation – are encountering change faster than you can say “stay calm and carry on”. This could be because of: diet, weight loss, exercise, financial insecurity, relocating, retirement/Medicare, empty nester syndrome, stress due to being a care giver of a parent or spouse, an unexpected divorce, death, or a debilitating chronic condition. A coaching session can help put a new perspective on the situation and help you gain insight and make decisions to live a fully, more alive life. So “what are you going to do with the next hour of your life, the next day or week of your life? What do you want to do with the rest of your life?” How is your Master piece unfolding moment by moment? These are some of the questions you could explore in a coaching session. Choose to be ruled by your own heart’s wisdom, guidance and potential. Come and encounter your own “Namaste Ah Ha moment”.
Unique Heart Centered Health and Wellness Coaching.
Combining her advanced training and certification in HeartMath and Intrinsic Coaching, Elizabeth has designed a unique heart centered health and wellness coaching protocol. The session can be an hour and divided into sections of head, neck , shoulders , hands and feet massage or Restorative yoga and stretching session and then moving into breath work, HeartMath Techniques and Intrinsic Space. These modalities are asking the question, “What is it you really want”, putting you back into the center of your own body-mind- spirit and open to more possibilities and creative solutions. Other options could include creating a special yoga sequence of postures to address certain concerns, aromatherapy and sound/vibrational massage. I invite you to connect to your own inner truth, to your heart’s wisdom. (one on one or telephone sessions available)
